Hixie and his larger than life fonts don't like my blog so I'm told. Well in my opinion, my style sheet tells my page how I want it to look, and if that means fixed size fonts then that's how I want my site to look. If you don't want that then tell your UA to use a default style sheet.
I'm not really too bothered about people who sit farther from their monitors so have to have bigger fonts, who can't read my site, since just by using a dark background and brown text my site is probably unreadable by random people with sight problems.
I mean if i set my default background color to purple and my default font color to orange, are sites supposed to honor that preference? Hixie your blog is unreadable by someone who needs to set their background color to green and their text to orange in order to read. Yes, you can assume that most people can read black on white but that may not be true.
My site renders in a visual UA as I wish it to be and the page is standards compliant, I'm also slowly making it so that the style is independent of the content, but using '%' and 'em' is really more of a preference rather than a law.
I do actually try to use more '%' and 'em' if possible since I'm not entirely convinced I believe in anything I just said in this blog entry =).
